I have quite a few different domain names redirected to one site that has just sat around for a while. The right project had arrived and I will start to seriously use this site.

After lurking around for some time, I have the impression that I could improve my search engine rankings if I redirect in a different way.

If I direct each URL to a site or page that in turn redirects to the main site, this would give the search engines a little more to look at, and my main site will have some external links to improve the ever important ranking.

    Is this the correct way?

If it is, where could I put the pages. I certainly don’t want to pay to host multiple single page sites unless I have to. Could I redirect to a page in a sub directory on my main site, or will the search engines see this as one site and not rank it as a link from an external domain.

I also read that Google does not accept these 'redirection only' pages.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi Wayder,

I'm still trying to figure it out too so I'm not sure about the anwers, but you may want to check out the thread marked "Weather report on pointing" that could help a bit.

    Best of luck,

    Hi Kip,

Thanks. I gotta decide one way or the other, so a scientific flip of the coin should suffice .
