Do inbound links to a sites home page affect the ranking of all pages in the site, or just the home page?

It 'seems' to just affect the page with inbound links.

There is actually a pattern to the way that Google assigns page rank. The higher the level, the higher the page rank. You want to have all of the inbound links attached to the page with the highest page rank, which, theoretically, should make the page rank higher.

So does increasing the page rank of an index page that has a navigation menu feeding to lower level pages increase the page rank of those lower level pages too?

That's the way that I understand it works.

At least, it seems to work for us.
