Ok, I built a web site (Peter Vene - Love in the wood for my father. The site gets about 20 unique visitors a day, most from our biggest local search engine.

    Now the question:

What must I do, to get more visitors, but have a veeery limited budget? What kind of promotion, where, how, when, why, with what, ...?

Thanks for all good ideas and suggestions!

If you are on a very limited budget, try this for free:
    1. Exchange link with other related site.
    2. Join web ring
    3. Submit your site to major search engines and directory
    4. Submit it to any other search engines (you can use a free software for this)
    5. Basic networking stuffs (join art, woodworking, sculpture newsgroup and use a link for your signature)
    6. Sit down and pray, watch your visitor grow.

It's all free, but it requires your time and effort and it will take some time for your visitor to grow.

Note: when submitting to any search engine, don't use your primary email. You will get lots of spam.

I found that trafficology.com has some useful info with their newsletter. Some of the ideas are a not really practical, but some are right on the money - and it's free, which is just about my price level.

Ditto with trafficology.com Some of the ideas are out there, but we've used some that really do produce traffic.

Have your father respond to some of the questions at the Woodworking Group at Google. If he signs his posts with his URL below his name (like others there do), woodworking enthusiasts will visit.

I responded to some questions on my topic, subtly mentioning my site, and it has generated quite a bit of traffic.
