Can anyone point me in the direction of some good tutorials so I can get my meta tags, keywords, and content right. Search Engines currently don't like my pages and I don't know why.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi Core,

Two sites that I like are Spider Food and Self Promotion.

    Best of luck,

Thanks for all the info Jada. I have the next 3 days off of my real job and will be busy with all of those links you gave. I use WordTracker already and love it.

I am really interested in Yahoo, Inktomi and Google. Hopefully I can make my pages easy to digest.

Hi core, if you've migrated to ASP or PHP remember to set the robots.txt to index/follow also or your metas will never be seen.

    Unless things have changed drastically,
    -Google doesn't read meta tags
-Yahoo is a directory and does not spider sites. Your site (actually your home page addy) is in the directory or not. Their search function uses the site listing category and description to rank the sites in their results and some other large factor that I have no idea about. No web sites in their directory matching your query ends up a default to Google. Google doesn't read meta tags.
    - Metas are probably helpful for Ink, but I don't know much about Ink yet. Also, I noticed some of my pages showing up at MSN for some reason (no, they aren't submitted to any ppc or pay for inclusion under the terms that they're getting hit for), and the description which shows up is my meta tag. The terms must be really niche, cuz they don't appear in the meta tag, but are on the page.

Think I'll copy that list of links, Jada, there are some I haven't looked over yet!
