Hi all!

Is someone able to check on the status of a site I submitted to DMOZ.com?

We submitted RabbitVibrators.com I think over two weeks ago. It is not showing up yet.

The reason I am wondering.... we set up a shopping cart system so we could get into DMOZ. We are then taking the orders and using our own credit card to order from the merchant.

It's turned out to be quite a bit of work. We will switch back to the merchant's check out system if we have been denied in DMOZ.

    Thank you!

Malibber, maybe you can answer a trivia question for me. It's one of those little questions that has started to drive me nuts...

The project is called the Open Directory Project (ODP)...yet it goes by DMOZ!

What on Earth do the letters D M O Z stand for???

Paula, I bet you aren't too sad to have been denied by DMOZ, since you get to go back to the old system now

I just submitted another site to dmoz.

So far the last 5 (I think) sites I submitted were accepted within 48 hrs. Dmoz likes me Well I hope the streak keeps going. This category is a little larger than the others so we'll see. Fingers crossed

Do you get an acceptance letter or just check every now and again to see if your site has been added?

Thank you all for the replies!

Seems the editor thought RabbitVibrators.com was a mirror site of LesbianSexToys.com, which is not the case.

However, I'm actually glad about the decision. We like the automatic set-up much better than managing sales ourselves.

That's a shame. Actually, I though LesbianSexToys was a good, useful site.

A general note - each added domain has a permanent history, so if you resubmit RabbitVibrators, the old editor notes will come back. Also, if you try this again with another site it would probably be worth NOT mentioning any existing rejected sites as that won't help - it'll likely be the same editor.
