We've had listings in the top 5 spots on 7Search for the last 9 months and they've done okay. I decided to find a new merchant, though, and lowered all of our listings to .01 so as not to eat up our account while looking for a new merchant. That dropped us to the middle of the 2nd and 3rd pages for each listing where NOBODY goes. Yet, low and behold, our clickthrough rate has quadrupled. Any idea what is going on? If it's a competitor clicking on our links, he can click all day and it won't cost me but pennies. It does not make sense....

Hmm, that's weird - are you seeing an increase in sales??

    A thought:

Search engines that feeds other search engines often have more than one feed going.

Lower quality search partners often get a cheap feed (low bids) if their traffic is "not so valuable".

This will preserve high-quality traffic for the top bidders and still give the search engine a high # of searches to brag about in their marketing, and clicks to happy customers in all bid-ranges.

This could explain your increase in traffic when lowering your bids.

OveB, that's the only thing that makes any sense. I think it's a good thing. We've gone from maybe 10 clicks a day to nearly 50 literally overnight.
