Are there any ODP editors here? If so, if I PM you a URL can you check on the status of my submission. The topic I sent it to did not have an editor assigned.

    THANK YOU!

Thank you Adam. I had a feeling that the site didn't make it because at the time it had more links than content. I plan to add about forty pages of raw content. (Already added thirty since the site was first submitted). Do you think I stand a chance if I re-submit it again in a few weeks? Also, just because I am using one merchant for all of my products/orders, does automatically make the editors tend to deny a site because it is an affiliate?

This has been bothering me for a while, do you mean when you say "grab a new domain name and try again" that once a site has been denied that it won't be looked at again even after more content has been added?

How do you check on a site not in your category?

Take the 1st step when adding to your editor bookmarks - then back out.

It is not necessarily true, but I think in most cases it is.

If the first editor marked it as "spam" or "affiliate site" or similar, it is unlikely that the next editor is going to spend (waste) much time looking.

Also, if it was a higher-up editor, it is unlikely for a lower editor to approve it, unless he/she is stupid.

What you can do, if you really have a legitimate and deserving site, put a little comment in the description when you resubmit to the effect that you are very sorry that the site was not ready last time you submitted, and please review it again cause it is really great now.

Yup.. the more times you try to submit it, the less chance you have of getting the domain in.

But sometimes making a plea with the editor or going through the feedback mechanism can help.. but most editors will never communicate with you.. it's an ODP culture thing.
