Okay, all the noise, and my sister even emailed me about it, but I have all of 8 page requests from them over the last couple of days.

AND ALL FOR THE CONTENT SITE, arggggh...

Although AskJeeves seems to know about some of my content sites, Teoma doesn't seem to have a clue (C'MON, even aol and msn have picked up the largest one).

What's the trick to getting in to Teoma, or do I just wait while the spider follows the links to the yellow brick road?

The Yellow Brick Road for Teoma is.........(drum roll please)...........MONEY !

They are partnered with ineedhits.com for their paid inclusion program. There is no free inclusion option, though the AskJeeves spider may pick up your sites eventually. However, they are maintaining quite a small database in order to deliver the on-the-fly 'refine search' option properly.

If you think it is worthwhile getting in at this stage, then Paid Inclusion is the way to go. Remember DirectHit is no more and Teoma will be providing search to a few unnamed partners shortly, so I think it is worth getting in now, particularly when ask.co.uk start using it as Askjeeves in the UK is one of the top 4 search engines.

Teoma and Wisenut are completely different search engines. They have a similar basis, for sure, but Teoma is owned by AskJeeves and Wisenut has just partnered with Looksmart. Wisenut has a free submit option, which is worth a go. However, the Wisenut spider Zyborg has been MIA for a while.

Hmmmm, I have yet to pay for Ink inclusion and seem to be getting a reasonable amount of traffic from Ink partners, so I may wait this one out until I really take some time to tear into my stats a bit more.

That or finish a new site and pay for inclusion to see how it does compared to the pickup time on the others.

thats funny, ive always thought that taoma was wisenut where the same thing and so does Brett_Tabke

im sure you know who Brett_Tabke is since youre a guy that reads seo forums

i know a lot about search engines and i can get my site listed on page 1 of the SERP's for my keywords but i dont claim to be an expert

zyborg has gone AWOL but submit to wisenut anyway, maybe you can get in while its free and it wont hurt you

Typed Teoma into Google and got this:
    <BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>
    Teoma Search
Beta Test You can find it now ! Find this phrase, Teoma delivers three types of
search results. Web Pages: Authoritative sites relevant to your search term. ...
Description: Searches deliver pages grouped by subject and as a listing, searches can be modified to search for...
    Category: Computers > Internet > Searching > Search Engines www.teoma.com/ - 6k - 03 Apr 2002 - Cached - Similar pages
    <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

I guess what is of interest to me is the date on the cache line. Teoma was indexed today and their page is on Google today.

Wow! Google is showing my stuff from January 24th!!!

    And so it goes

It looks like Teoma just came out of beta in the psat week or two.

It's a paid inclusion thing, I guess like Ink though - I turn up on Ink even though I haven't paid.

I'm not sure that Teoma will generate much traffic at the momemnt, but the partnership with Ask Jeeves looks promising.

    Austin Powers,

Yeah, I know of Brett and can be absolutely certain that he knows that Teoma and Wisenut are not the same Search Engine. This would explain why at Webmasterworld there is a forum for Ask/Teoma but all threads relating to Wisenut appear in the alternative search engines forum.

So, just to clarify: Teoma and Wisenut are not the same search engine.

As for your other comment, I am very happy that you can get good rankings for your sites and yes, I do claim some expertise in this field. I am certainly not going to apologise for it.
