I can't say. They switched back to the old database. I don't know why tough. Probably there were some problems. But what I saw for a couple of minutes was a real update.

Hate to rain on your parade there Chuck, but it looks like an update to me, and a good one.

Thats odd Chuck ... You accused people of pre-mature egoogleation

I find the update of my pages shallow ... Some new pages were added ... But some of the old pages were not updated.

Anyone else?

Dave

Yeah, it all seems to be early Mar/late Feb stuff with a very recent crawl (yesterday) thrown in for good measure.

I hope this holds, but I suspect we will see a second update this month sooner rather than later.

Let's hope they migrate this across to the main domain very rapidly and then start a new update later in the month.

Meanwhile, I have some worrying link things to look at. Oh well, it's not all good news all the time, though I can safely say that I will have some happy clients this month particularly as I promised one a 25% traffic increase..

MM,

Hope your right .. the new index will be sooner than later. Lots of the pages that were dropped in the last index ... Were not picked up on this one.

If I could figure out the Googs algo .. I'd be rich

Now go figure. Sites I just created within the last few weeks which are NOT LINKED to any other sites and which I did not submit are showing up in google.

However, the sites that I slaved to create in February are still not in the index. What the heck?? Will we ever figure Google out.

The two great questions that will never be answered completely:

1) What is the meaning of Life?
2) How does Google work?

I could live without the first question answered if I knew the answer to the second!

My flagship site is back in after a long absence. My two smaller sites that got smashed still aren’t in but I can live with that. I haven’t checked on my new sites yet.

I'm trying to restrain from rejoicing....but it appears my biggest money making site was allowed back in this update(after being out since Jan)with some pretty darn good placement!

On the downside I lost some really great rankings for a few other sites that have been making good money (at least they are in the index though!)

over all it is a great update...so far.

The site I just created in February is in with all of it's pages! It was originally crawled in March and now I am showing that it was crawled and cached by Googlebot again TODAY.

BRING ON THE EXTRA TRAFFIC!!

Just as a placeholder in my mind, I will stick with the April Fools PigeonRank system as far as google goes.

To test my theory that it is truly run by pigeons I will start adding large inapropriate bird seed gifs all over my site. I predict that this next update my main site will be number one in any and all keywords, especially nonrelevant one's.

OK, back to reality.

Q. What is the meaning of life, why are we here?
A. To figure out how Google works!

Q. How does Google work?
A. How can anyone tell you that, it would remove the meaning of life.

I check my logs every week without fail, and if Google is wandering around, it did not visit me. Ah well, lets look next week.
