An Inktomi "slurp" bot has been crawling my site.

I had not even submitted to them.

Does this mean that I am being indexed, or is it just peeking through from an inbound link to check relevancy issues on a site that is linked to me?

    That's a definite Maybe, LOL!

Occasionally I get some pages in free for a couple of weeks but then the listing disappears.

And a lot of times I have had unpaid pages spidered by Ink with no resulting listing at all.

Ink's been slurping my sites alot these days too. I haven't joined their program yet... I may just wait/hold on to my $$$ and see what happens since it seems the Slurp's coming around a couple times a day. I *did* join Lycos' paid URL submission (b/c it was cheap) and it was after that when Slurp started showing up.

i'm also curious if hotbot is part of the lycos network their using paid submission from inktomi instead of lycos inselect.
I'm sure after the contract is finished with inktomi this would be revised and changed.
However or whenever that contract expires.
