I understand that people sometimes change their site. Maybe you could consider changing your site to remove the affiliate links. Then submit it to dmoz. Once approved, you could add them back in.

Or better yet, you could just leave them off.

You did not list the url so I can not help you with how your site is doing in the submission process at dmoz. It can take much longer than 3 weeks to get in so it could just be waiting.

DMOZ has been taken over by the monopolizers and they will not list any more sites that make money via affiliate links. DMOZ has already dropped many categories that primarily listed sites that focused on making money via affiliate marketing.

Forget DMOZ. It used to be called Open Directory, now I wonder when they will Re-Open it! Those people, with their eyes spinning looking at money, will never give up greed and will LIE to you looking deep in your eyes! The White Men has decided to take over the money trails on the internet and they will do anything to prevent anyone from getting into their ways.

BTW, my site receives more traffic than dmoz.org!..

"Those people" are in fact thousands of editors with a different take on what is and isn't an affiliate link farm.

Yes, you can remove some of the links and increase the content. Unless you're running a virtual mal there's probably not much point in having more than a handful anyway.

If you do re-add it having done some work, point that out in your new submission (e.g. more content added and affiliate links removed)

I think this "white men" stuff is getting old.
My wife (the "black woman") agrees.

I have a new personal site on a specific subject. I went and submitted it and then realized it would go better in another place -- fairies -> personal pages

Actually, I didn't realize there was this personal page subject catagory and the other was on my subject, just more scholarly. I think the personal catagory is fairy new.

I know a Dmoz editor came by because of my logs. How long should I wait to resubmit? It has been 2 weeks but I don't want to annoy them.

Thanks,
Vicki :-)

if you need the url, just PM me

White Men can't jump. I won't let them to.

-Do you know "white men" may actually be black, yellow or brown? But the skin color won't stop them being the "white men". Tell that to your wife.

I agree<IMG src=http://www.abestweb.com/ubb/icons/icon14.gif>

Along with rants about dmoz being this or that. It's just a directory and it has volunteers working it. Perfect or not makes no matter. Submit your site they either take it or they don't. If they don't then move on to something else.

I've made a few posts about how I was taken into dmoz quickly on some occasions under 48 hours most times. This is proof that you can get good service out of dmoz. It just depends on the particular volunteer editor of your category.

I think of myself as a "guy", not as a "white guy"

I think of my wife as a "woman", not as a "black woman"

And I sincerely hope that my children will think the same way. Sure wouldn't want them to be dead branches on the tree of evolution.

That's my two cents - my entire budget for this particular subject.

No ill will toward you, and I hope you are doing well and continue to do well, but this really isn't the place for all that derisive BS.

So do I. I am pretty sure the "white men" also think of themselves as "men", not as "white men". That is only the way I think of them I represent them in writing.

The BS is you once again jumping onto my "white men" without looking at what I am saying. That is the same old BS I used to see on these boards.

I speak a tough and hard language. That is how the world is and when you are nice, you get screwed. White men wants "nice" slaves. My language is rough , has been rough, and will be rough. I do not personally give a damn about dmoz listing my sites, or even removing my sites from their BS directory, it is only the truth about DMOZ that it has been taken over by the people running on the money trail. DMOZ is no longer a free public service to webmasters who wants to make money. Look at their submission page. It says not to submit pages with affiliate links. What that means is "If you want to make money out of your site, go away". 1000s of editors are just fool slaves of that gang. If you do not have affiliate links and while that is the only way of making money for small sites, why would you care to be listed on dmoz? I wouldn't and I do not. DMOZ is a piece of junk. It wasn't, but it is now.

I think of myself as a displaced Irish lassie who should have been born in the stone age. A hunter gather am I, with the wind and the rain in my hair.

So call me a "Mick", and I'll sing you a tale of the wise ones.

Who the heck doesn't? Wanting nice slaves is no respector of color or sex.
Really, it is trash talk and you seem smarter than that.

Your language may be rough but implications of 1950s America or pre-civil war America are NOT justified in making any point against anyone or company for they have racist undertones and implications. I know that such is not your meaning but I must ask you to refrain from such posts.

Respectfully,

And how it is implied that I am making implications of 1950s American Rulers?

I am in fact implying the irrespectiveness of the minds of the imperialists and colonialists of the entire human history to the rights and lives of the rest of the human race.

I think I am over the minds here. Sorry Haiko but I do not need your *warning* about my language. I speak the way I like. If you say this is your board and I must speak the way *you* like, that's your choice. I am here to bring some off-thoughts to most of your board's users while getting entertained and brainstormed about the affiliate marketing issues. I see the events the way they are and that's the way I present it. Sorry but you are in no position to defend anybody against the way I present my vision of the e-commerce monopolizers.

Anyways, I am really touched that you said that.

Bluesx,

Some may take it that way. I know your not implying that and are only making a statement against the mentality of CJ, Gross et co. .... I just wanted to clarify and will keep clarifying for those who don't know you as I do.

Always the best,

Haiko
