    I'm not sure what the initials DMOZ actually stand for - the "D" likely is for Directory, but they manage the ODP - Open Directory Project. ODP provides the directory info for a lot of the big search engines like AOL and Google. You can find it here http://dmoz.org/

    It's actually a contraction derived from the site's previous address, directory.mozilla.org . One of the founders registered dmoz.org because he got tired of typing the long address.

    Thanks for clearing up the mystery islander. One of those things that sort of bugs you until you find out. Every time I think I have it figured out, I'd get stuck on that Z<IMG src=http://www.abestweb.com/ubb/icons/icon12.gif>
