    Anyone know of a tool that spiders a site and pulls the keywords out of the meta automatically?

    Are you looking to store the keywords in a file?

    No, I have a client that has a website with over 4000 pages. Each page has different keywords, of which I have no master list of.

    I would like a tool that spiders the site and pulls those keywords out for me, so I can have my master list.

    You can imagine the time it would take to pull out all of those keywords.

    Hi
    Sorry cant help on that but when I looked at using Googles keyword adverts and asked it to suggest some keywords for me it went away and stole the keywords from my site and suggest that they were the best for to be used to promote "Glasgow Taxi",. To say that I was mad is an understatment, then again I did see the nice side of it.

    Sorry once again from diverting away from your original question.

    regards
    John

    What you need is something I often need - something than can go round a number of files and find whatever you are looking for regardless of length like this - "find 'whatever1 * whatever2'". Where '*' can be anything of any length.

    Then you could find

    '{meta name="keywords" content="*"}

    and output the results to a file or maybe replace the '*' with something.

    This might be the kind of thing a unix bod can do. They do all kinds of strange things.

    Quiet, I found that one as well, and it kinda stinks.

    I like most of the AnalogX tools, including Keyword Extractor. Don't get Keyword Live and Keyword Extractor mixed up. Keyword live looks at live info from various SE's and gives you what is being asked for by visitors. Keyword Extractor asks for a URL or file, and gives you the raw numbers for the file or URL.

    I think you can tweak the controls though to have it bias toward a particular type of search, based on a rough model of the search engines.

    Hey, it's freeware - worth a few extra minutes of someone's time.
