I have just added a site map and link to it from my front page. I have a coupon code site and on the left have a category list. The main reason for the site map is for the search engines to find other pages not listed in my category list. On the site map page itself should i have the category list or leave it off. Does this help or hurt in anyway or does it even matter?

May all your ups and downs be in bed

Just my 2 cents but I'd assume that the search engine spider is dumb and make the site map page as simple as possible.

Assuming that all of your pages are based on a 'template' with a common look and feel as far as graphics and colours are concerned, I'd take that and put a single, simple tree of links on it.

Spider's are ultimately written by humans, and nobody can write a program that can cope with every eventuality when it comes to site navigation, so make it nice and easy for them
