I see these changes too, but only with some searches. That is typical before "the main event"

I usually see changes throughout the month too (everflux) but never this drastic before the main update. With the example above, it looks like there will be some major shifting going on.

I have seen it previous months and this month for one search term I am targetting.

First time this has happened to me though - I only put up a site yesterday (linked from another site of mine) and it is in Google today #1 for chosen keywords. www.google.com, not just www2, www3 etc. i suspect it will disappear again though.

I just checked some of the sites on page 1 of the above example. A site with a page rank of 2, another site that hasn't beed updated in 2 years. I hope this changes, those are some horrible results.

Hi
I cant see anything as all BT Openworld customers are banned due to some idiot trying to hack the site, but what I can tell you is that some changes I have made have certainly been taken up and things look good just now but I will not hold my breath as the "Almight Google" might just kick the hell out of my listings (again).

regards John

Is this tool of any use. It displays 4 Google results?

It makes it easy to see the differences between what's on Google's various indexes.

Its only real use that I know of is for determining whether the Google Dance is on--if there are major differences between some of the indexes, chances are it's the Dance!

Without the tool, you'd either have to go to each Google individually (www2.google.com www3.google.com etc) to check the results, or just wait for things to settle and show up on the main index.

Aww Jeeze,
I didn't put the URL in.
http://google-dance.miniunternehmen.de/

This is apparently a German tool. My q would be- Does www:de have any prognostication implications for the next dance?

If people were upset with the last update, i have a feeling this one will really throw people. There were some articles about the last update on how a lot of people thought the last update wasn't that good and Google took a step back. If the above example is any indication of whats to come...FAST/AllTheWeb I still think Google is the best with FAST/AllTheWeb coming in a close second. The last update i thought was pretty good, getting rid of the "go to hell" stuff, but the algo still needs a little tweaking.

Don't forget when you talk about the "www" server that Google actually has several mirrors around the world, so the results will tend to look different. Last time I did a tracert to www.google.com it came up in Switzerland

A casting of the runes indicates this is just a delayed everflux update - I have newish pages from established sites included, but no new sites. So, the pages I lost at the last update are now back.

Hmmm.

I have some very good listings in AlltheWeb but never get any traffic from there. Wonder why?
