C'mon, I mean, it's obvious right? I will be monitoring these types of sites. I have a feeling that Google won't catch on, even after reporting them. What do you think?

Google already penalises this kind of stuff. There are certain areas - porn, casinos, credit cards etc, that just aren't worth the time and effort to police.

While this sort of spam looks very obvious, the techniques and manipulation behind it are pretty fiendish and make it impossible for Google to deal with effectively. If you want the gory details, PM me.

I've reported one site for more devious SPAM than this, and for things as blatant as white text on a white background.

Despite repeated reports, the site in question is still listed, although it doesn't seem to rank as highly as it once did.

95% of the backlinks to this site are from guestbooks. I thought they didn't count towards linkpop? This kinda makes one wonder if the countless hours spent developing a proper and spam free site might be better spent on throwaway spammy sites. These sites always eventualy get delisted but there is always another the comes along to replace them using the same dubious tecniques.

    T you are so right

A domain name and hosting costs all of 19 dollars, while profiting from such a site could run into the thousands before you get the boot. Meanwhile starting another site for the googlebot to hit and replace when the first gets removed.

this site while looking at Web Pages that Suck. These guys really go overboard with the hidden text. You’d probably have to use ctrl-a to highlight it all. Every bit of white space is filled with hidden text. They even go as far as to stuff keywords behind the visible text on the page. All this and a PR5. At least I can teak heart in the fact that the page is so ugly that they probably don’t get any business off of it.

The sick part is, a backwards link shows it's got a nice dmoz link:
