Then I can rightfully claim that at least 50 percent of Lycos users have visited my site.

I have a "content" site that Lycos sends me 175 visitors a month ... but Yahoo/Google sends me over 20,000 hits a month to that site (with no listing in Yahoo!). And Overture sends 150 visitors to that site without a paid listing; I didn't know that so many people use Overture as a regular search engine.

Overture provides search feeds to smaller sites. It does not generate huge traffic, but sometimes enough to notice it at least.

The purpose of the post is about what people search at places other than google. The amount of traffic at lycos is not the point.

I got the point and the purpose and found the information to be very useful (really!)

Some of us (most of us) stress ourselves with too much work and not enough sleep so we have a tendency to drift off topic a bit to vent some steam or have some fun.
