A quick question for you all.

When I add new pages to my site I am placing them on my site map page which is already in the index.

How long should it be before those new pages appear in the Google index?

Do I have to wait until the next dance or should they be appearing quicker.

If they should be appearing quicker then is there something that I am doing incorrectly, since I have added several pages since the last index and none of them have been added yet.

    Thanks

    Tony

No guarantees and no absolute schedule, but generally:

Google will spider your site usually during the last few days or first few days of the month, and they will appear in the following update at the end of the month (if they do appear. Sometimes they may not.)

Also if you get linked to from a page that is well-ranked and gets spidered frequently, you may sometimes get your page included within a couple of days, but only for a couple of days. It would then re-appear at the next update of the index.

Google really confused me for a while. I had pages appearing then disappearing regularly. Very annoying sometimes. I had optimized my Halloween pages and Google indexed and included them, and then the next day they vanished from the index. They later appeared after Halloween had ended.
My Christmas pages went in at the end of November, and my traffic went from 33 hits to over 1,000 a day. Probably nothing compared to the bigger websites, but it is a hell of a lot more than 33 which I had on November 17th. I like over 1,000 much better
