I have been wondering which sites google can spider and index better, dynamic or static.

It would appear a static sight should be better for google.

I'd go with Static, i have many dynamic pages indexed but most of them don't somehow rank good.

I know for a fact that most well-written dynamic pages can rank just as well or even better than static pages.

However, I truly prefer to just do as much as I can static, utilizing some SSI on larger sites. Just because it's easier for me.

The search engines are only getting smarter as technology grows, they are very much interested in making sure they can spider everything, so the future is bright.

My problem with my dynamic site is that not all pages are indexed, only a 1/3 of them, even though they've been up more than a year now.

My sites with dynamic pages get googlebot visits much more often. That in itself is pretty good reason.

It's the same here, but what's more important than visits is the ranking, and atleast for me, google ranks my static html pages much higher than php pages (generated dynamically).
