I've been searching something through Google Directory, but couldn't find my site in. So I went ahead to submit it, but my site is already listed at the ODP in that category - why isn't my site showing in Google dir. then (have a PR of 6)? Any ideas?

Google takes its directory information from the ODP, but the latter hasn't produced a suitable set of data for Google to use for a few weeks now (they've had problems which I think are now sorted, or nearly sorted). So the google directory is relatively "old". Just be patient and the Google directory will eventually update with the current ODP data.

I believe that the last set of ODP data that Google has is from the end of September. If you got into ODP after that, it won't be showing in the Google directory.

However, that doesn't mean Google hasn't spidered your ODP link since then. You should see it in your backlinks if the Open Directory page you are listed on is PR4 or more.

The RDF dump (which is the output file that Google and the other directories use) has been broken since September due to a massive internal error.. this has almost been fixed, and the dmoz.org search function is now using an almost working database from December 9th.

When the error count in the RDF tags file gets to zero, it will be available. It's odd that it hasn't been made available this month so far, but it's got to be really soon.

Incidentally, Google spiders dmoz.org pretty much every day, so a listing in dmoz.org should ensure you get into the Google search results with pretty much the correct PageRank passed, but not the directory which relies on the RDF dump.
