Anybody seen an increase in traffic recently? My sites have been getting spidered a lot more by inktomi & looksmart. My referral logs show a number of msn results.... I never noticed any traffic from msn before.

I have one domain that gets about 10 times as much traffic from MSN as from Google. Been that way for a couple of months, at least.

Yes, we have seen an increase with MSN referrals as well. We had been averaging 4300 monthly and last 2 months we have seen 6000+.

This is probably the first time I've ever thought MS increasing its market share in something would be a good thing, but Google needs to be kept in check somehow.

Did you guys do Inktomi paid inclusion?

This month MSN is sending me about 25% of what Google sends to me.

It used to be around 10%.

    HI
I have seen an increase in traffic from MSN as well on two of my sites. I dont pay for any submissions at all (apart from Google Adwords for one of the sites).

    regards John
ps I agree that we should have more alternatives than Google. From my search logs I see traffic coming in from various other search engines and I would not like to see all my eggs in one basket.

    Hello Dolemite,

We have not paid for inclusion in any search engines for over 2 years now. Our service receives great referrals from existing users and our other network services and we see no need to do so as we receive great traffic.

Interesting.. so it was not just me. Well, I like it!

They also crawl sites a lot faster. I put up a ton of pages, 2 weeks later I got the referrals from their engine, after only a few days since the end of the crawl of my site.
