im just getting started in this so sorry if this is a beginners question.

i recently read somewhere that googles spiders cant deal with question marks(?) in a url.

for example if you page looks like this:
    http://www.thesitename.com/product.asp?id=2

googles spider will see it like this:
    http://www.thesitename.com/product.asp

and since there is nothing at the second address the spider would just stop there.
    is this true?
if it is i may have a problem..
im using monstercommerce.. any tips for search engine optimization with them?

This used to be true but isn't any longer. Google, AltaVista, Fast/Lycos, Teoma and Inktomi can all spider pages like the one in your example.
