    My site is listed on Dmoz. How important is that to google pr?
    <p>
    what other directories would help me out? We're already on yahoo, alta vista, alexa, etc. but what about some important directories that i've never heard of?

    I don't know if DMOZ ranking is valuable to Google PR ... but it certainly helps in reaching additional viewers and clicks.

    There are so many directories that help in the same benefit manner. I have about 30 or so listed in our free search engine submit & tips section you could browse through.

    I also recommend Gimpsy.com and to ask markymark for additional benefit directories you should submit to.

    I myself would submit to any directory that allows submits to reach the widest potential audience we can get.

    Dmoz is very important in Google. A match between your Dmoz title/description and your targeted search terms gives you a boost in addition to the PR/link benefit of the link itself.

    Other directories - well, Ray's already mentioned Gimpsy.com, but you should also try:

    www.goguides.org
    www.joeant.com

    and anything niche directory specific to your category.

    Markymark,

    We've signed up for GoGuides.org & Gimpsy.com, but a question about www.joeant.com... there's a $39.99 submission fee.

    Is Joeant.com really worth paying $39.99? The other two are free. What's the added benefit over the other two mentioned which offer free submission?

    Thanks,

    Frank

    Not a lot to be honest, Frank. It's just another useful link to have. I have seen virtually no traffic from it. You could always find a friendly editor at one of the search engine forums and ask him nicely to review it for you.
