Overture is one option, but there are some restrictions - you need certain amount of visitors to your site in order to qualify for this program.

Are you looking to sell their services, or add a search utility to your site?

If to sell their services: Findwhat and Kanoodle. They both have name recognition and the ability to drive a reasonable quantity of traffic.

    Good question, NoWires.

I'm actually looking to add search functionality to some current sites and start a co-branded search site as well.

    Hi, Paul

I tried using overture about 3 months ago. It cost US 50 to set up & each keyword ranged from between 50c to US 1 although that depends on the keywords you want to market.

To cut a long story short I ended up spending US 150 to get 2 leads & no sales - so you have to know what you're doing. Overture is by far the biggest PPC and will drive more traffic than any of the others combined.

Although I haven't tried this because Overture proved too costly some experts say that to get PPC advertising to work you have to find ultra targeted keywords. For example, if I was looking for a Sony Via laptop computer it would be far better to target the keyword "Sony Via laptop" than the keyword "laptop."

Here's the ranking of the PPC's that get the most traffic (but also take into account that more traffic means more expensive keywords)

    www.7search.com
    www.xuppa.com
    www.findwhat.com
    www.epilot.com
    www.kanoodle.com
    www.sprinks.com
    www.ah-ha.com

If you're interested in PPC software that researches bid amounts and then mass submits the keywords you want to market and their prices then please let me know.

    Kind Regards

Why I appreciate your response, I'm looking for PPCs to affiliate with and market - not to use to market and advertise my own site. In other words, I'm looking for the best one to make money with - not advertise on.

    Thanks!

    Sorry, Paul.

My mistake. Anyway hope this helps…

You will probably make the most money in the short term by marketing Overture because their keywords are expensive and because they drive the most traffic.

However, in the long run you’ll hurt your business because of the high price and poor results with Overture. (Assuming off-course that you plan to take advantage of the lifetime value of a customer – what’s that marketing saying – it’s harder to find a new customer than sell to a customer who already trusts you)

Therefore, you would do better marketing Findwhat or Kanoodle.

And you will do even better if you explain to your customers how to get the most value from using PPC search engines… i.e. explaining that they should use ultra targeted keywords and you might even like to send them to http://www.goodkeywords.com to get their free copy of software that generates hundreds of good keywords.

In addition, everyone loves something that’s for free. I don’t know if you’ve noticed the banner ad at the top of this page. It says get your first US $5 for free at Kanoodle … hey I was even slightly tempted.

    Anyway hope this helps.

    Kind Regards
    Ryan Hough
