For some time Inktomi has been picking up my new pages when I added them to my site, but about a month ago every page I add no longer gets picked up. I’m not up for renewal on the paid inclusion yet either. Does anyone know why this would happen?

It’s getting more frustrating each day. What did I pay for if I can’t get new pages to show up!

My guess is that since Yahoo bought Inktomi and Overture they're going to be maximizing their resources.

Inktomi's search algorithm is the best one they have, while FAST's crawling abilities are much better honed than InkTomi's.

My guess is that they will be using FAST to crawl the web, while using Inktomi to sort search results. And wishing they could sell off AltaVista's technology...

That, of course, is all theory.

    Something odd is happening alright.

I'm getting hits on URLs that should have expired over a month ago, but on the other hand I've waited over a week for some new ones to be added.

I've had several hundred pages spidered tonight by yahoo seeker, it was a little too hungry so I had to put a stop to it, especially when it hit my cgi-bin. Any ways, the dns resolves to Inktomi - same net block as slurp. Slurp was also busy on my pages today. Seems rather redundant for both spiders from one netblock, and one company, to be doing this at the same time.
