It looks like a complete re-indexing and could lead to some major changes in the SERPS at the end of the month. Also I am pretty certain that new incoming links are taking effect within 2-7 days even though they are only reflected in the PR bar monthly based on work in this area leading to results being reflected in the SERPS in this timeframe.

Here are some figures from one of my sites for Google spider visits to date. (Other Google crawls didn't make the top 30)

Hits % Files % KiloBytes % Visits % Spider Name

    3864 0.05% 3864 0.06% 133316 0.95% 64 0.19% crawl10.googlebot.com
    9065 0.12% 9064 0.13% 314454 2.24% 33 0.10% crawl11.googlebot.com
    1746 0.02% 1746 0.03% 60583 0.43% 45 0.13% crawl12.googlebot.com
    13239 0.17% 13237 0.20% 459230 3.27% 57 0.17% crawl13.googlebot.com
    1339 0.02% 1339 0.02% 45568 0.32% 41 0.12% crawl14.googlebot.com
    1595 0.02% 1595 0.02% 53210 0.38% 51 0.15% crawl16.googlebot.com

    DPG:

You know, we haven't had a good "OMG, Google is re-indexing" thread lately. I'm looking forward to the "Help! The Sky Is Falling" posts, countered by the "I'm #1 on some pretty good keywords" entries.

    Let the Google-panic begin!

    LOL phillyburbs ,

We have to find something to fill the time as the end of Christmas sales leads to a dip in the sales charts. Nothing wrong with a bit of panic to keep our motors ticking over :P

    Merry Christmas,

Ya, I get about the same number of hits daily also.

Well, except for today. Like today there have been no googlebots around for almost nine hours... this is usually an indication that 'something big' is going to happen.

Seems like teoma knows about this and has been hammering my server today... pretty close to 50,000 calls aready in the last six hours... also another indication that Google is about to do 'something big' also.

I'm betting it'll be around Christmas.

My 2nd site has had 2 pages in the index for about a month now, they recently vanished from serp using allinurl and links but were still cached according to the toolbar. They returned a few days later with no change in PR or anything.

I don't have any really great log analyzers so I use awstats and webalizer from my host. I couldn't quite make heads or tails of analog(it never did do the DNS lookup).

awstats and webalizer don't differentiate between the media bot and the crawlers of google so I wonder which is which of all my google hits.

*crossing my fingers for more pages to show up indexed, preferrably all ~100 of them*
