Question, How much diference is there between what they use for search results? I have 2 pages that have been a total waste of money with inktomi submit.
As an evample on some pages where I am in top 3 results on some keywords at Google are nowhere to be found on MSN and such. Is this normal?
I put in 2 URL's hoping for some traffic and glad I didn't submit more at the time.
What I ended up with was basically nothing for traffic from them.
Are their algo's that much different?

First, check to see if the keywords and phrases you are targeting are hogged up by Looksmart (the "web directory sites" listings on MSN)

If there are 10 pages of Loksmart listings for your terms, then #1 on Inktomi is page 11 on MSN results, no ifs, ands, or buts.

If that's not the case, PM me and I'll throw a few tiparoos; there are a few little things that go a long way in appeasing an SE spider that is no smarter than the proverbial Pavlov's dog.

    TrustNo1,

Thank you for that link. It was very helpful. Must admit that I've just been targeting google.

Oh, i forgot to post a very important thing. MSN should be dropping Looksmart around mid January

So when this happens a lot of us will be very happy if you have a lot of Looksmart listing above yours.

    Hallef#inglujah!!!

What a great year it's been. First with Google Adsense we find that there really is such a thing as a free lunch, and now we may even "get rich quick" compliments of Uncle Billy.

I haven't done a real in-depth check on my inktomi listings. How huge is this dropping of Looksmart going to be?
