dropped from #1 for one of my on topic terms for my content site down to #8 on google.

it's full of spam again.. casino sites with bogus pages that have nothing to do with the search term.. pages showing MORE search results.. etc.. the results were actually good a few days ago(besides me being #1 hehe)

one of them leads to a page with search results and has google adsense on it(isn't that against the TOS?).. the kicker is at the top right corner there is a subscribe to newsletter box that says "subscribe to our <search term used> newsletter"

Canadian eh, your right, I'm having the same issue... pages leading to pages full of google adsense ads, and nothing else.. quite unacceptable!

I still stand by my earlier statement. The Google staff knows that 90% of the SERP spam is caused by affiliate marketers. One day Google will get it right and be able to detect re-directs, hidden doorway SERP friendly pages triggered by the Google bot and those seeking to use Google as the poorman's B-a-HO.

I'm a bit surprised people are still trying to use the cloaked doorway pages. I just sent a spam report on one this morning.

Cloaked doorway pages will remain for a while ... it is too easy to get a truckload of throw-away domains and set them up as traffic traps...
Sooner or later there will be a filtering in place, though.

that newsletter thing was supposed to read "subscribe to our SEARCHTERMHERE Newsletter" so whatever you were searching for would appear there.

that's just plain deception.. probably to sell a list of emails to a spammer or use them to spam.

That's why when you subscribe to any email list you use a mail name that identifies the mailing list.

So sign up to theirs using searchtermhereisgoingtospamme@theirdomain.com

Then when that email address appears on a spam CD, you have a trace.

Of course, GWB has made it so you can't sue the pricks (good one).

They HAVE to shuffle again... I haven't managed to hit the absolute bottom in the SERPS yet...

jackson992, wow 2000 pages, that's quite a bit. right now I'm only seeing a loss of 1% of traffic since this topic was started. of course it's the weekend so I'll be watching my listings for the next 48 hours or so in search engines and see if this is effecting me. I'v only found couple keywords where this is happening so far. I will be investigating further later.

1% drop Jason, lol. I don't think you need to do any investigating. The SERPS can still perfectly still and you'll notice much wider fluctuations.

    Probably a stupid question but

How do you know you have lost 2000 pages - what kind of search tells you that?
