I don't even look anymore. I get traffic from so many different keyword combos, i just watch my traffic to find any differences.

    Yes, it truly does suck.

I have highly focused content sites, with no affiliate connections at all, and they are now burried behind amazon, directorlistings and spam.

As googles results do not provide the end user with good results, they user will use a different tool. Google needs to stick to its fundamental business!

I'm seeing good results right now... a lot of good listings... Trustno 1 I have tons of combos too, but I like watching and finding how people come to my site... it's how I improve...

Anyway. I'm not going to say the listings are awesome until it can prove there results are good with those nice sales! ah good luck everyone... hope everyone here gets some of the $ commission pie!

Yes Jason, Im seeing changes. It looks widespread. Tonight I received new listings from new domains that I wasn't expecting to get scored well, and then Google took away some of my best placed pages. Some listings were in number one placements for over a year. It's an interesting change in the way Google has decided to score a page. Some of my best ranking affiliate sites have dropped about 10 notches or off the map for their "target term." I have a feeling they might come back next time around.

all my decently ranked 2 word phrases have vanished from page 1.. my traffic has dropped by 30-50% on my content site..I see nothing but spam and irrelevant crap results now.

It's like they took the adwords broadmatch algorithm and tossed it in the search/index engine. search for "specific widget" and you get results for everything BUT.. now you get pages that happen to mention the widget in plural form or a similar widget but for a different product even though you specified exactly what you were looking for in the search.

I managed position #3 for a certain term for a short while, right now in that position is an article from 2001.. the topic is related to computing so it is positively ANCIENT. Many of the others are gambling/casino spam or generated pages designed to spam the serps.

I gave up looking for my site after going through 15 or so pages of serps.

I tried a different search term from my logs that was doing ok and I ended up with a bunch of non-english results.. lots of asian language sites where my browser basically displays little squares in the serp.

Google results are crap, yahoo dropping them, msn developing their own bot.. sure seems like the beginning of the end of google's reign at the top.

My serps are totally scr#wed up since about 7pm last night. My top sites are gone and some lesser pages have surfaced.

I'd say it's a bit early to panic, give it a few hours - maybe a couple of days to settle down.

Googles results right now are total cr@p.

Interesting thing is that while my 2 + 3 word positions are mostly gone, I haven't had a drop in traffic.....yet

Completely vanished on many two word combinations I was in the top five for. Strangely, the pages that seem to be most badly hit are the ones I bid for in AdSense.

I was following the thread at Webmasterworld, but they've deleted it and moved it to the paid forum.

I went over to Scroogle and I can see that my results are getting filtered out. The stupid thing is that Google is filtering the "official" pages from the maunfacturer and retailers too.

Google really needs to get its act together! The last update wasn't a great one for me, and the sites that replaced mine are mostly spammy, or database sites that link and loop together making it impossible to get good results.

The SERPs being returned just aren't valid. I'm almost afraid to look at this update...

The WMW thread is back, but it's the usual too much noise, not enough signal problem.

Looks like it might be an "overoptimisation" issue again.

If folks need to check their results in this current google "version", go to http://216.239.37.99

I've been monitoring this for the past day or so, and I hate to be contrarian, but I'm really liking what I see.

Although a few of my pages/sites took a small hit, a see ALOT of spam getting the boot, including several dozen "doorway page" sites that were spamming the index with dozens of domains/pages of duplicate content.

Overall, I'm tracking about a 3-4 spot jump in about 90% of my targeted niches.

Roll it to all datacenters Google!

    From WMW:
Basically people think this update is like the Florida update and just has expanded its filters to more searches. So basically a Florida II
Traffic still fine on my end.

Very confusing stuff, but my money is on an optimisation filter somewhere, although there could be an underlying change in PageRank too which we won't see for a while.

I'm not alone: a Yahoo directory listing is also getting shafted.

All the more evidence that we need a competing search engine.

With virtually no changes to the content or structure of one of my sites, it went from Google's page 1 to page 8 in about two weeks. Because of Yahoo currently being no more than a mirror of Google, my site took the same irrational dive.

Well, ther's always Inktomi which is going to take a big chunk of Google's traffic away when Yahoo! switches over.
