    Hi All:

I know this is probably an old topic some of you have talked over. But I just have to make a new post since I feel that there's something different this time.

I have 2 different malls. One of them was dropped from both msn and yahoo on the same day just few days after yahoo gave it a boost in ranking (traffic dopped from 1000/day to merely 100/day). Less than a week later (today), I found out that the same happened to my magazine site. So these 2 sites are only in google for the moment.

It is frustrating and I feel like crying. These two sites have been in engines for over or about a year now. I don't understand why they suddenly dropped one after another. I'm more worried if they are going to drop some of my other sites and why me?

While surfing around hoping to find a clue, I noticed that an affiliate out there who already has 4 malls and 1 gift site actually has a mirror site for each of them (one of them even has the same logo though the domain is different). That means they now have 8 malls (some are identical or near so) plus 2 gift idea sites.

Sorry for the rambling if it is really not necessary. I would greatly appreciate someone could give me an idea. Any clue, guess, or personal experience would be very helpful.

Looking forward to hearing something soon

    Thanks

    snakebaby (sad and frustrated)

    Ditto!

All the search engines redefined how they look at websites 1/04.

I feel your pain. Wish I could count all my sites that Inktomi had dropped on just my 10 fingers, but can't. Inktomi has just been fickle lately.

Migrate (mirror) your .com sites to a .us domain, ban Inktomi/Yahoo from the .com incarnation, ban Google from the .us incarnation, and cross your fingers. Life sucks sometimes.

Thank you all very much for the feedback and info.

I've calmed down a lot and trying to find a way to get my sites in, possibly paid service (like Submit It!?). It might be just worth it.

    Good Luck to all

If the site was dropped by Inktomi/Yahoo, don't waste your money on the paid submission. If it's dropped, it's dropped.

My PR has dropped yet again.

Is there are possibility having my sites listed at the bottom of each of my pages is causing it?

Jackson, maybe you should introduce some new PR to your establishment. Find some fresh PR links to send in to your sites. Maybe your incoming PR is just getting stale.

    Lightbulb Inter-linking sites
I use to put all my sites referenced somewhere on each site that I have as a way of cross-linking. Less than two months later, Google sent all of my sites to the pits of the SERP's - None rank higher than 100. I have now pulled all references between the sites in hopes that Google will once again reindex and rank at least some terms high.

That happened to me on 12/16/2004 but I didn't realize that it happened until the first part of January 2005. When I contacted Google, they stated that the one site (my showcase site) did not appear in the index except for the URL due to a partial indexing of the site. No reference at all to possible duplicate content.

My sites often have intersecting merchants which by their very nature would have essentially the same content (short sales pitch). My recommendation is link them if they are entirely unique or serve a completely different market. Don't link them if they have the possible of sharing market share.
