Great article, thanks for posting the link, Trust. Several points made in the article do make a lot of sense. I really think there will be more changes forthcoming from Google. With the new competition, Google must become more relevant.

I'm finding much better results on AltaVista and Yahoo right now, Google still has some work to do, it seems...

    Thanks Trust,

That was a good one. I like the way they define "Affiliates". I don't fall into their definition.

If what they say is true than waiting a few months for your old google position will probably not happen. GET MOVING!

I read it. It explains alot about why my datafeed driven sites have been in a nosedive since the Florida-Austin one-two punch. It's been a slow but steady decline in traffic. I bet it has to do with them working their way down from the top to assign LocalScore for popular search terms. If this Hilltop thing works the way the article say, then relatively young datafeed driven sites without authoratative links in would seem to suffer. That's me....and I'm sufferring badly.

Not impressed with this article, personally. 'I believe' this and 'I feel' that...where's the hard data to backup his opinion. Not good enough. Must try harder.

I'm also bored of reading about Hilltop - it gets dragged out of the closet everytime Google does something a little out of the ordinary and after three years, it's getting a bit old.

    I agree with Markymark.
Trying to get a sophisticated algorythm down to a line of equation is funny. If that would be all, google would not need so many PhDs...
The author is trying to explain something about which he doesn't know all variables... a good try, but as markymark said it
quote:
Must try harder

I can imagine the google staff reading it and rotfl. It has to be more complex than that.
