I have recently signed up with Trellian for Inktomi submissions and I have just been having oodles of problems with my account.

Has anyone else been having problems?

I don't use Trellian myself but they are a solid company. The problems you are having might be related to the recent Yahoo switch thing. What exactly is the problem ?

I know there is no more INK submissions the way it used to be. To submit anything now you have to go through SiteMatch.

I'm sure some of this is my fault somewhere along the line.

I signed up with 3 URLs in mid-feb. I happened to be doing over a weekend when (unbeknownst to me) Trellian had a major crash.

I waited several days to be able to log in. I realized because I had signed up over a weekend it may take a bit longer. Eventually, though, I emailed about my account. They said that because of the crash they had, they lost all of the weekend work. Hey, stuff happens.

I checked my credit card company and no charge had been applied, so I resigned up using a different account name, but this time paying for 4 URLs.

Around March 1, I got my credit card statement and had been charged for both accounts. I emailed Trellian asking for a refund on the first and after a couple of days of emailing back and forth, they agreed. I then added and paid for one more URL. I now 5 Urls with them.

But, then, three of my URLs were removed from the good account and the remaining two are stagnant. I think they removed those in repsonse to the refund I asked for.

Checking my stats, I find that the Inktomi robot has not visited the two still listed since the end of Feb.

This is a confusing story. If it's a story that is exclusive to me, then it's probably just a calamity of errors and I'm sure we'll get it resolved. I'm still trying to figure out the "priority" part of "priority submit", though. Ha..ha..it's probably one of those things that could only happen to me.

I was just checking to see if people would start snickering when I wrote that I signed up with Trellian. At least I don't feel foolish now.

OK, well, you've been caught between a rock and a hard place, I'm afraid, Janet. I can't really comment on the credit card thing, but what you've said sounds likely. The spidering thing is probably a consequence of the move over to the Overture SiteMatch program.

I do know a rep from Trellian slightly, so I'll see if I can get him to come over here and answer your queries. Might not be today, though, but I'll give it a go.

Position Tech is up, I think they changed the login page url so if you've got it bookmarked that might be the problem. It's a mess when I log in though, a lot of my URLs have 'error' status now for no apparent reason... why do they do this stuff? Grrrrr

    David,

    If you're still hanging around...

I'm actually still dealing with a couple of issues on my account, but I think they are being worked on. Mostly regarding the lack of Inktomi spiders visiting me. IF that doesn't get resolved I'll email you. I emailed Chris a moment ago.

My real question is..how did you change from a Newbie to an Elite Member in one day?

    Thanks again

Honestly not sure, could be the number of post I have done in these 2 days.

    Or that I represent Trellian.

    Cheers
