    then go to

    http://www.a9.com/

I tried my bench mark test search of

    ascension island

to find my own site about the island and there I am at number 6 which is more than I can say for the new Yahoo search which ignores me despite the fact that the site has been in the Yahoo directory since 1998-ish.

So the question now is ...
should one always add a few Amazon products to a site to improve visibility on a9.com ?

Anyway go visit and have a play

    Les

    PS

    I nearly missed

Interesting. Too bad all of the Alexa information is like six months out of date... it's still showing a format that we haven't used since last year.

I'm looking forward to the two or three clickthroughs that they may send our way.

Anyone know where I need to report this site for setting cookies for a porn site when it is a supposedly safe kids site?????? I didn't run SpyBot yet, but when it disabled my back button I checked my privacy settings am not happy with what it tried to do and what it may have done.

I was checking a9 for my own sites when I saw this and clicked... grrrrr.. Poon???? Help???

I am not pleased with the results from this supposed engine after spending 5 minutes there. OLD stuff, and bad stuff....

Looks good to me. We are in the number 1 position for the first phrase I checked.

I'd have to say it's giving very relevant results, and I would recommend it.

A9.com is using unfiltered Google results - it looks like raw Google data without the "Florida Filter".

Do a simple test - check the results on Google with an allintext: prefix (e.g. allintext: kittens) and then search *without* the prefix on A9.com (e.g. kittens). Compare these results with the usual "filtered" results.

Bottom line - A9.com looks good for those of us hit by Google's tweaking. It's also a good way to get more use out of that Alexa data.

It's got plenty of other cool features too. I like it.. I only wish it integrated ODP results into the SERPs like the old Google.

It's still Amazon and like the Alexa spyware toolbar, their privacy policy doesn't reassure me that this isn't just another extension of their spyware activites.

Who needs Google results in another format? Use this at your own risk. Or better yet, why not just use Google?

It says that at the bottom of every results page..as has been said..it's google with a bit of alexa so far.
