"Bankers have said a Google offering could value the company at as much as $25 billion, the Journal said"

Wow, holy crap. Not bad for a company that really has not been around for very long.

All the Google ads I've run across in the past few hours have been p.s.a....hmmm..
I should say the content ads. Ads on google searches are showing fine.

    Anyone else notice this?

$25 billion for a search engine company!!!!

I do not see any rational for the kind of valuation. I hope people still remember dot com doom.

Heh, isn't Yahoo still trading at like a 120 PE Ratio, and half the price it was in 2000?

Yahoo is still off about 77% from its high set in Jan 2000. Currently the PE is 130 with a market cap of 37.7 billion so maybe the Google estimates aren't too far off. It will be interesting to see their financials.

I hope they utterly forget about that. After all, it'd be sweet to get that kind of $$$ for my sites. They're always for sale if someone starts waving billions in my face! I'll be glad to throw in my little SE along with the batch.

And now we see the true power of advertising. Yahoo 37 billion, Google 25 billion. GE one of the biggest traditional companies 27 billion.

Exposure Money and Endorsement Money is where its at. Sweet.

The question is. Will you be getting google stock? I would be interested to know why you would and if you would hold it for long or sell out quickly.

I know next to nothing about buying stocks and I have never done it. But, I am interested in this one.

    Anyone?

No, but I'd be buying yahoo and having a look around for some SE start-up penny stocks.
