I've seen speculation that Yahoo is penalizing sites for carrying AdSense.

    Any thoughts?

No, would be a dumb move on their part.
People are always speculating when all they have to do is go to Yahoo and see sites in the top spots with Adsense all over them.

Wouldn't be the first time they've made a dumb move, would it?

I don't know if they've made dumb moves, they've made some shady ones. Plus there's zero evidence that they're penalizing sites that carry Adsense.

no, I don't think that they are penalizing sites which carry adsense. I have adsense on all my sites, and I have a number 2 spot for a competitive keyword with them.

I've got more sites dropped from Yahoo than I can count on my fingers, and who knows why they were dropped. But the ones that Yahoo likes rank very well on all targeted terms and they have a big@ss 728x90 adsense panel right across the top of every page.

On the other hand, there is certainly a bias against affiliate sites.

    Good Find Mike.

    Good on Google and Yahoo.
