Assuming about a 1% CR, a 30c/click would erase the profit from most affiliate commissions. That's $30/100 clicks!

It'd take a $300 sale, at 10% commish, every 100 clicks just to break even. And at the price of $300, 1 sale/100 clicks is not overly conservative for most programs.

So it just doesn't make financial sense to use the Site Match program.

I can tell anyone to not throw away money on PPCSE for TigerDirect. Last 3 months earnings are 1/2 a cent per click $0.005 on thousands of showcase clicks. Try putting those displays in a one sentence PPCSE ad.

Particpation in Site Match also exludes any SLURP results you might have for the same query. Why would Yahoo serve the free listing if they can earn money for one from Site Match?

Horrible idea, jeeese much too expensive. I'm not sure what fantasyland Overture was living in when they came up with that structure, but they did a terrific job of taking a nice, profitable enterprise like inktomi and running it into the ground within months.
Following everyone else is a GREAT way to become average.
