I have purchased TE but have not used it yet (afraid of getting banned).

Is anyone else using these types of programs, an if so, what had been your exerience?

If you are afraid of getting banned, why buy the product in the first place?
Why not find out about it before you buy it?

It always amazes me how people can fall for these so called guaranteed traffic programs.

How can they guarantee a top placement on any search engine?
What would happen if 10 people all went for the same key-phrase? Would they all get to number 1?

    Julian,

I had purchased TE,because several online friends that I know, had been using TE with very good results. At least I had thought their results were good, then I saw the #'s on this board and realized that their earnings were just pocket change.

When I had found this board, I also realized that there are so many other options (like data & rss feeds etc.) to get a high PR. I also didn't realize that one could get banned by using certain types of programs. Heck, I didn't know any one who ever has.

The program also comes with a money back guarantee so I'm not out any cash.

Just wanted some feedback before downloading.

    Thanks!

What does TE do? It is hard to say if you will get banned as the TE website is short on details and long on praise from other get rich quick websites.

If it is designed to put out a lot of garbage pages so that you do not have to develop anything of real value to the web users, and you are ok with that, then why are you worried about getting banned?

After finding out more about TE (and others like it)I realized that one of the parts that helps your ranking is it gathers links of competitors and they show up on a link page.

Linking to the higher PR sites will then help your PR, and will give free advertising to your competitors in return. They say it's a win-win situation, and they could be right, but I don't feel right about it and decided against it.

Would anyone here be upset if a link to your url showed up at a competitors site or would you like the free advertising?

These traffic leveler programs do build sites with content you enter but I am understanding that since they all look alike (most don't spend the time to customize them) search engines see them as all being the same.
I don't know anything about tricking search engines, so I don't know if that's true or not.

I just want to make sure that what ever I do does not hurt anyone elses site.

    westgroup,

All I know is what ever you do "Play it Square" and be leaning a little to the "Conservetive Side"... Get Your info from the search engines themselves and not get rich schemers... Their schemes might work for awhile but if You get banned You'll have to tear up Your site and wait a long while to catch up... Take it from one who knows.

    Love You,

I wouldn't mind my link on a competitors site.

Meaning as long as it's related and not a porn site or something.

What? Linking to a site does nothing to your own PR.

Your PR is affected by sites linking to your site. Not the other way around.

Do an ABW search for it:

    People use it to SPAM.

This is from the Google Webmaster's area:

quote:
Quality Guidelines - Basic principles:

Make pages for users, not for search engines. Don't deceive your users, or present different content to search engines than you display to users.
Avoid tricks intended to improve search engine rankings. A good rule of thumb is whether you'd feel comfortable explaining what you've done to a website that competes with you. Another useful test is to ask, "Does this help my users? Would I do this if search engines didn't exist?"
Don't participate in link schemes designed to increase your site's ranking or PageRank. In particular, avoid links to web spammers or "bad neighborhoods" on the web as your own ranking may be affected adversely by those links.
Don't use unauthorized computer programs to submit pages, check rankings, etc. Such programs consume computing resources and violate our terms of service. Google does not recommend the use of products such as WebPosition Gold™ that send automatic or programmatic queries to Google.

So you need to use your own judgement. You might get by with it, you might not.

I think your time would be better spent finding a good Search Engine primer or discussion board to give the bots what they want, no worrying if you're going to get caught and have your site penalized.

Here's one tool I use Instant Position that helps me optimize for the spiders. I've seen my hits and rankings go up after using these tools.

BTW, Go to Google Webmasters Guidelinesto find out exactly what Google wants.

    Hope this helps.
