Yesterday I created a new website with its own domain name. I have linked all my site's homepages to it. I am not using any submission software, nor will I manually submit my site to any search engines. Anyone would want to care to guess when
    1) My site will be indexed in google
    2) When my site will be indexed in yahoo
    3) When I will have top 20 placement on at least one of my key phrases in google.

    My guesses are as follows 1) Before January 1st 2005 2) February 1 2005 3) January 15th 2005.

Update: My site has been found and indexed in google. Google has found several dozen pages so far. Checking my logs. My first log entry (made after the internet acknowledged by new domain name was:
    xxx.193.141.48 - - [20/Dec/2004:21:30:53 -0500] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 200 19126 "-" "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0)"

    Google found the site at:
    66.249.64.169 - - [20/Dec/2004:23:10:34 -0500] "GET /robots.txt HTTP/1.0" 404 593 "-" "Googlebot/2.1 (+http://www.google.com/bot.html)"

It took only 3 hours. Yahoo/slurp (nor any other bots) are no where to be found. Google has always been more efficient than yahoo.

The first person to find me through a google search occurred at:
    69.14.132.254 - - [22/Dec/2004:02:36:57 -0500] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 200 16377 "http://www.google.com/search?q=italian+afghan+charm&hl=en&lr=&start=30&sa=N" "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; Hotbar 4.1.8.0; FunWebProducts; SV1)"

So it took one day and 5 hours from the creation of the site until the first independant google search. This is impressing even I.

Impressed is not the word. In awe is more like it!
