After what I wend true the other day with hoby-toolong.com, deleting the pages, posting my fury to express my discontent and later getting many 404's hits from google and msn SE. listing from people looking for the products that I had on those pages that I deleted in a moment rage, I learned a lesson.

Never to delete a page I made more than 7 days ago.
If I get a deactivation notice from a merchant, I will wait 72 hrs before I react, but if I get no explanation of why, then I will delete all their links from my site and do a replacement of links with another merchant.

But just in case I can not find a replacement merchant soon enough, I will leave that page in place even if it is blank or I may put just any other banner in there on the meant time or make a redirect to another page or my sitemap, this way I will not loose a visitor to a 404 page.

Anyway there are so many merchants out there, I don't see a reason to be worried about a few of them that just drop you just like that, when you least expected.

I really wish CJ would let us know if an advertiser is deactivated due to a low balance in their account, or if they've left the network. There's a big difference between the two. Better information would allow us to make a more informed decision about what to do. Changing out links because some airhead in accounting didn't get a check cut in time is silly.

How about those running toy/hobby sites going inactive right when the Christmas buying rush is on? 123ABCtoys (or something like that with wooden toys -red flyer wagons -tricycles -strollers etc) and MyHobbyPlace. Send a bunch of clicks to them last Christmas and all year long after they e-mailed me they were legit.

ROLMAO ...wanks never showed one sale and now just hope webmasters are too busy to pull down their FREE traffic links without paying CJ or us a cent.

If they won't adopt and feed a bird ..flip them one! BBQ some Gator and remember to flush WhenU..

I can't figure it out...I still have yet to put any links up for hobbytron and they never deactivated me. Are people still getting dropped from them? If not, I'll put up some of those links.

I'm in the same boat as you and my theory is that we are not on the radar for them to drop us because we don't have any effect on their EPC.
