    Hi guys,

Not sure if this belongs to the clickbank or search engine insight category, but I've posted in both anywayz

At the moment I am using Google adwords for a particular ebook from clickbank.

My question is, is it possible for me at all to know which keyword was used for each purchase of the ebook?

    Thanks very much in advance.

    Cheers, dophin

Yes Dolphin123 you can find exactly what...

    * Keywords the purchaser used to place an order on your site from Search Engines.

    * The exact referring URL location, the time, hour, ISP and some other data.

    * Plus other critical elements...

All you need is a cgi script, like AXS at: http://www.xav.com/scripts/axs/

This script is awesome and free!

BTW, which e@book are you promoting and how are you performing with Google Adwords.

    Hi Pap

Unfortunelty, I am using a windows host,I can't see how this is possible though, since the purchaser purchases the product on the merchants site. How can any tracking system track what has happened on someone elses sight?

The most I can do is to track what keyword was used to go to the merchants site not the the keyword that actually makes the sale.

    hmmmmmm,

eBooks is ok, nothing to jump up and down about, making about $100 a month profit.

Dolphin, I thought you are the merchant and webmaster, right?

You can only track users on other sites if the webmaster agrees to place some sort of code/script and let you access it from an online interface.

This is why I think the most important feature Clickbank could offer is referrer information. Right now there is no way for affiliates to know where their sales are coming from. I have joined many affiliate programs which offer referrer information, I really wish Clickbank would add this feature, I would think it would increase sales and profits for everyone.

Wayne, about which Networks are you talking about and exactly what information do they give out about the referrer?

When you make a sale at clickbank they give you the email of the customer. Guess you could ask the customer. Beyond me why the heck they do this! Do they do this on everything or is it just this one product I am selling?

They give the e@mail of the customer for product sales you generate and for all referred sales to the Network.

    Pap,

I don't belong to any of the big affiliate
networks besides Clickbank. I have joined many
private in-house programs which offer referrer
information. They tell you exactly which page
from your site the order came from. So say I
advertise with Findwhat, I add ?source=findwhat
to the end of the URL I advertise through them.
With the referrer information I get from these
programs, I can tell which of my advertising
is producing results and which isn't. I can
then stop advertising with the ones which don't
have a good ROI, or else lower the amount I
spend with them to see if I can get a profitable
ROI. I don't know of any way to track sales
from Clickbank though, without them actually
    implementing it on their end.

Oh yes Wayne, I know... programs like QuickPayPro form tracking ads like:

    <font size="1" face="Arial">http://quickpaypro.com/x.cgi?adminid=515&id=42860&tid=102997&pid=4390</font></p>

    This link tracks:
    Visitors - Orders - Conversion - Amount - Expense & Profit

Detailed tracking is what a marketer can't live without, you're right.

I hope Clickbank will upgrade their system in the future.

I don't know about QuickPayPro, never used them.
I am not talking about tracking, I am talking
about referrer information. Other programs I
have joined tell me exactly which page on my
site the order came from. Then I can tell
exactly which of my advertising sources produced
    the sale.

I understand what you're saying Wayne; the tracking system I mentioned before, can also be assigned an "ID" by you, so you know exactly which page of your site produced a referral.

If you'd like to tell me exactly what programs you're promoting, I'd be interested - maybe even join under you (for 2nd tier).

I always opt for sophisticated affiliate programs, like you.
