Have been looking for a search box for clickbank that I can incorporate onto a web site. Anyone tried any? I have seen CBMall etc etc, but what I dont want is a ready made site that has my ID incorporated into links. I want a search box I can put anywhere, and possibly a way of embedding search results into a page. Have looked at CBBomb, and that seems as if it might do what I want. However, I cannot find a contact e-mail for author and I want to make sure it is up-to-date (and will be kept up-to-date in the future).

Anyone had any experiences with any of these tools?

I took a look at the site and this seems to be the contact info:

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR> In a hurry? Don't have time, dont know how to, or just dont want to be bothered? Installation services are available, via a professional programmer, for a nominal fee. Contact Mihai Secasiu <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

And his email at the http://www.simscripts.com website: Mihai.Secasiu@home.ro

    I hope thats right

It also says that the scripts is auto updated when Clickbank updates so..

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR> Features include auto-updating of it's database, ease of installation, and embedding each link within the db with your own clickbank affiliate code.

    <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

Have you downloaded the free lite version that could help! http://cbbomb.com/free/

    Thanks for the reply.

I had thought that e-mail was someone that the author recommends. Anyway, I suppose it is a start.

Also the auto uupdate thing - thanks I thought I saw that somewhere on one of the pages I read but could not find it again. Will go back and look.

Thanks for the help. Now, can anywone comment on this script?

"The script and database (together, CBBOMB FREE) were written by Mihai Secasiu http://www.simscripts.com for Gilberto Cintron, of http://cbbomb.com"

Hmm. Seems that by spidering the clickbank site, the results will only contain the top 100 in each category. I wanted more ( ), but then I guess this is OK. Not worth about.

Going to try to install it and see how it goes.

No. I created a MySQL database, but the install script does not like the settings I am feeding it. Tells me there is something wrong. There may well be - I am new to MySQL.

Database server is the same as host?

Was that you that posted on their forum? Someone posted about this error (I think today).

Well, I created an MySQL database using my hosts control panel. They gave me all the details like host (not localhost - something totally different), username password, database name etc. However, entering these things into the install.pl results in an error. not sure what to do now, except maybe look for another alternative.

An option you might wish to look at is the
    Fluid Dynamics Search Engine
    http://www.xav.com/scripts/search/

Once installed you can spider Clickbank and
put a search box on your pages.
See one of my sites as an example.

Downloaded it earlier to have a look at it. How do you get your affiliate ID in once you have crawled the Clickbank site? Does it produce some sort of database of datafeed of the site oyu can use search and replace on?

I looked at it earlier as someone had recommended the same, but have not gotten round to trying it yet.

I had the CBBOMB script installed successfully on my site and would give you some URL's to check it out, however the script is not working right now. Clickbank is in the midst of an overhaul on their site which has stopped the script from working. Gil is aware of this problem and will be fixing it as soon as possible. You can contact Gil about this script at webmaster@cbbomb.com . I really liked the script when it was working, hope they get this fixed soon.

    Andy,

There was an help file on the Fluid Dynamics Search Engine with a spep by step guide on how
to setup Clickbank but it was removed.

I saved a copy on my HDD and can mail it to you.
I don't want to post here because of copyright
issues. I don't know how to send you a mail from this board.???

I had FDSE installed (and working on one of my sites). It works wonderfully; however you may get hammered by your host as I did for consuming too many system resources (this can happen if your site gets a lot of searches as mine did). In my case the FDSE script was banned for use on my hosts servers and although I'm now on a dedicated server I haven't taken the time to set the FDSE script back up. I'm not even sure if the instructions for how to set up FDSE specifically for ClickBank are still on the FDSE support site or not. All I can really tell anyone that wants to try is that it does work like Noel says!

OK, I finally got this CBBOMB script working on my site again and I really love this script. I am in the middle of a DNS transfer so hope this works, but check out my website at the following URL:
    http://www.ezdetective.com/golf.html
If this doesn't work the way I describe it here, check again in a day or two, the dns transfer might not be complete. I used SSI to include the cbbomb golf links on this page, and then I have the cbbomb search form at the bottom of the page. I am using the header and footer templates for the page which shows the search results. I made a couple of modifications to the script which I received from Gil to make the keyword show at the top of the page for the search results, and also removed the category and subcategory links from the top of the page since they weren't working correctly anyway. If you are an affiliate of Clickbank I highly recommend this script. I am not including my affiliate link here, you can find out more about it from the cbbomb site.
