Dealing with Clickbank has been an unpleasant experience for me. Although they do not owe me a lot of money I feel it is unfair to place money earned in reserve and withhold my money for an additional 120 days. It was money that was scheduled to be paid to me in January. Some of that money had already been on reserve for over 3 months.

My nightmare started with Liz stated I needed to send a W8. I faxed a W9 (because I lived in the US) seven times. My payment was scheduled to go out in January was being held on reserve until they got their information. Even after faxing the W9 a total of 7 times the check has not been sent but instead the check has been put on on reserve for an additional 90 days as stated by Rochelle. Seems a bit unfair to me. I was told by Rochelle that all they needed was my social security number. I am not sure why they couldn't have found it on the W9s sent 7 times since January 13, 2003.

Has anyone else had unpleasant experiences with Clickbank?

Clickbank will hold back 10% of the amount you have earned for 90 days, to cover future refunds and chargebacks. I think all of the third party credit card processors probably do this. You can set the minimum amount for when you receive a check in your account, I think it starts at $25.00. I have never had a problem with getting paid from them in over 2 years. Sometimes I do question their tracking though.

They have already held back the money 90 days. This is an additional 120 days they plan to hold the money in reserve. That would make a total of 210 days.

    The amount is over $25.00.

I posted all correspondence with them online.

Same here Wayne. Someone recently signed up as an affiliate under me and I wasn't credited. She was kind enough to email me and let me know and I in turn emailed Clickbank. They replied and said they would fix it up but they should prevent this kind of thing from happening. Obviously something is wrong with their tracking system.

    Hi Nancy,

    That is true.

Clickbank does hold back a percentage to
    protect you and your customers.

This is the same thing that other credit
card processors do, and of course Paypal
    has Seller's protection.

I have never really had any problems with
Clickbank. I opened an account with them
    in October of 2001.

I do know that they can be a little
slow when it comes to e-mail and what not.

The tracking situations are being smoothed out.

Doing a little testing on my own, I have
found that it doesn't work when you swap
out Clickbank nicknames in the browser, once
    the page has been loaded.

I think that they will get everything together.

Nancy, I hope you get it smoothed out.

    Thanks for reading!
