is it just me, or does clickbank now hide your affiliate id on the address bar? for example: i promote cheapcarfinder..and my affiliate link would show as www.cheapcarfinder.com/hop=mets. now clickbank hides the affiliate id's, and after someone click on my adword link..it would just show as www.cheapcarfinder.com where my affilaite id name is hidden. is it just my comupter, or is this really happening?

I am seeing this too. I am wondering if this is new. To find out for sure, send their support an email - they have been good about replying to me in the past.

ClickBank doesn't have such a feature.

It's left up to each website owner to set a cookie then forward you on to their url without your hoplink showing in the url.

In other words, when you go through a hoplink you will always end up at

    http://somewebsite.com/?hop=username

UNLESS the website owner has his site set up to hide it.

    That's right
Yeah, the sales page of a merchant has to have a special script installed to
hide the "?hop=Affiliate" remark in the URL.

Many now do it as they realize that affiliates don't like their ID written there
as the pootential buyer might think that they recommended a product just
so they can get a commission.

    Take care

P.S. ClickBank buddy, I'm flirting with the idea of buying your software for
almost half a year now. I think the idea is exellent and I come to yourr site
often (sorry to be burning your bandwidth ). Do many of your customers
get much higher commissions than from Adsense? I know this depends on the
keyword, but still. Does it also embed the affiliate link in the "Clickbank buddy"
text shown with all the ads?

What is the script that will hide the cbaffiliate name in the URL after the cookie is set? Where can I get it?

My affiliates would appreciate that for sure.

Excellent post, thanks for the URL I am implementing it in my sales pages. Another thing you can do to check if your URL is working is go through your own link to the sales page and when it asks you for your State/Zip enter it and submit. On the final page before you purchase scroll to the bottomand you'll see a little thing that says "affiliate="yournickname""

I noticed this aswell, specifically on SEO Elite and Google Adsense Secrets. I was getting worried thinking that maybe my affiliate links weren't working but it's probably because they hide it. Great feature IMO.
