Gordon, I wouldn't even bother to try developing any site that has "R Us" in it as Toys 'R' Us are notorious for aggresively protecting their trademark.

I did a quick search on google for "toys r us" trademark violation and came up with:

law.com - From Burgers to Jet Skis, Toys R Us Gets Domain Names
Harvard Law School - Toys 'R' Us vs Richard Feinberg

Phillips Nizer - Toys 'R' Us vs Eli Abir and Website Management

Harvard Law School - Toys 'R' Us vs Akkaoui
The list could go on and on! So umm best avoided.

Gordon, I have been looking to get rid of www.computerparts.us , just trade me a good URL in some other category, I'd call it even.

LOL I wonder what would happen my last initial was an "R" and I registered

    BSR.us

Not my real initials but you get the idea

Judging from that one article, I wouldn't be able to use it.

    Jesus!

Why don't you take your shirt off, paint a target on your back, and run through Toy's R US's legal department yelling "shot the TM violator"

Think about it, if you roll over and give them the name, the lawyers don't make a bean. They LOVE litigation. You're just inviting them to SUE you.

Actually by contacting them before he even puts anything up is expressed "Good Will" and he hasn't violated the TM, he just asked. They of course will say that he is not allowed and ask him to surrender the Dom, which he will. End of issue.

The reson they do the infringement cases is because they need to protect their mark against "dillution" If everything was "R"Us then they wouldn't have a trademark ... it would be just like Pranav (... Ooops I meant Xerox ) or Aspirin (a trademark also).
