I'm considering buying the domain name fret.com . How much do you think it is worth?

The bottom really has fallen out of the domain market recently, so these days I'd be tempted to go for the $500 tops level.

I guess one thing to do is consider what a site like "fret.com" would do. How about "things to worry about" - has Osama got the bomb? Will my pension fund be worth anything when I retire? Is that indigestion or a heart problem?

You could build an interesting humor site around that concept - a good site to have in your portfolio or perhaps to sell on as a fully developed site.

If you can buy a 4 letter dictionary-word domain name for $500, you better hurry and get it. I personally would never sell one for that.

    Good luck.

I'm thinking of getting Haiko to buy and donate me B-a-HO.com which will explore the virtues of online Gorrilla marketing strategies. Forum would be along the lines of Pud's F'dcompany.com with less class. Don't FRET just B-a-HO..

Are you saying you'll buy ANY dictionary word for $500?

I'll sell you a whole bunch of them for $250 each.

    Deal?

I think fret.com would make a good guitar site. Don't have the cash or knowlege.

Sorry, Joe. I was just pointing out that 90% of diciotnary words aren't really worth a lot of money. SOme people automatically think that since a word appears in a dictionary, then the .com of it is worth a certain amount of money.

A lot of the same people got in trouble with their bank manager when they loaded such domain names up on their credit card, expecting to become rich overnight.

I do have some dictionary names, many of them worth a fair bit of money. But they're not just ANY dictionary name. :^)

That's what I would do with that domain name.

When I read the word "fret" in this thread the first thing that came in to my mine was guitars, fret.com would be easy to brand and the domain name would be easy to remember.

If I was to develop that domian I would be selling guitars and accessories.
