Wow, that almost sounds to good to be true. Wonder how they can undercut the other companies by so much?

GoDaddy is great for domain names, but we've had troubles with their hosting (Frontpage extensions never worked), transfering domains from them to another registrar and today changing nameserver info. But their $8.95 domain names are great!

The cost of a domain name, spread out over the course of a year, is 3 cents a day. Why take your chances on a no-name provider just to chisel for what amounts to less than what your next cup of coffee will cost?

    GoDaddy wins by a mile.

I predict that GoDaddy will raise their rates once they have a large enough user base. Did anyone else notice the small print message to the effect that rates for renewals are not necessarily the same? Of course, other registrars have used the same tactic already and others will also do so.

If you register enough domains or buy some other service you can often find domains for a little over $6.00.
Remember though that domains cost the registrar $6.00, so at $8 to $10 registrars are only working with a few dollars profit. That kind of margin does not leave much room for the cost of customer service etc.

The other trick is to register or move 100 – 1000 domains. You can usually name your price with +1000 domains 
