I found this in their FAQ:

    <BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>

What if the Ebates frame disappears while I am shopping?
A small percentage of our merchants have technology that prevents the Ebates frame from appearing once you go to their site. If you select one of these merchants, the frame will disappear but you'll still be within the Ebates network earning discounts. If you use Internet Explorer 6 the Ebates frame will not appear. However, you will see a pop-up to notify you that you are being tracked by Ebates.

    <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

Anyone know what this is about? it just seems odd. like a thread that needs to be pulled.

I have IE 6.0 and the frame does not show. I do get the pop up each time informing me of this. The pop up is called "Cookies Help" but they state I won't see the frame but I'll still be earning my rewards. I want speculate on why this happens technically, since I don't have a clue. All I know is that the URL and tracking is diverted to ebates even if the frame doesn't show.

I would guess IE6 third party cookie issues... I don't frame sites so I am far from an expert on those issues...

Hey AFFJus...we were one of the merchants that the MMM download did not work when visiting our site directly, through another affiliate or another ad we placed elsewhere..we could not nor could ebates figure out why it did not work for our site. I tried on various platforms, had others try..and it never happened..which is retospect was great because I knew MY affiliates were not being pilfered..but because others still are...we dropped them last week until they can show they have TOTALLY cleaned up the redirect issue.

It'd be really nice if we could figure out what you were doing so that the ebates scam didn't work. Then we could all do the same on our site and start getting our comissions back.

    any thoughts?

We really had no idea why it was not working..and since they now removed us on our request..we have no way to test. I asked my web folks..they could not figure it out. Ebates had no block on us..they were even dumbfounded. Same thing with MyPoints which uses same software as MMM.

Anything particular about your server/hosting account? Unix/Windows? Special control panel? Apache/FReeBSD/etc?

Database driven or html? php? asp? maybe something there would yield a clue.
