Is there a PHP or Perl script out there to identify eBates users? Basically, I want to show all merchants to most users and omit eBates merchants when displaying pages to eBates users. Just self defense.

There's a reason army's wear uniforms even though it makes them easier to spot. Sometimes that's what you want. Uniforms suggest organization, power, and numbers. These, in turn, inspire fear. And, as any good operative knows, there is no more effective weapon than fear.

There is a javascript around somewhere that detects if the browser has any BHO's installed.

    Info on it here

I don't know if it can target ebates directly and it may fall foul of detecting any BHO not necessarily just parasitic ones

Maybe you could use this and PHP to remove certain merchants when the scripts detects BHO's?

TopMoxie/eBates doesn't use a BHO, or any other COM (ActiveX) component, so unfortunately the parasite script can't detect it.
