OK, following on from the last poll about use of pop-ups & unders, I thought it would be interesting to see how many of us like them.

Questions were more difficult to come up with as there are two of these beasts at large.

My opinion, if the popup or popunder is on the main page, Then I hate it. If it's small window and it's a popup under and it isn't on the main page and it only comes up 1 in 10 times or something like that then I don't see it as annoying.

The problem with pop unders is you don't know how many are lurking behind the top window. I HATE it when I close my browser, only to find 3 or 4 pop unders sitting there waiting for me!

I don't do pop ups or pop unders, and I make sure visitors to my site know that. I've had several write to thank me for not bothering them with pops.

It also makes it stand out when a "reminder" screen from a parasite pops up. They know it isn't coming from my site.

I look forward to the day pops are history.

Pop-ups and unders are just like stepping on a piece of dog S*** ! Then you take a stick and try to pry all the stuff out of the treads of your shoes - and man does it smell !

guess I have to agree I hate popups after all. Dynamic HTML is better then popups on my opinion. But I hate popups

If the popup displays the exact item the visitor is searching for, the visitor is not likely to be too annoyed by the convenience.

If you believe otherwise, then why do you worry about Whenu and other scum popups?

Popups are a wonderful tool for driving the customer straight into the merchant's site.
