    All,

How many would want to go to an ABW symposium if it was scheduled for April 9-11th in NY? It will coincide with Linkshare's Symposium.

    Haiko:

I'm already booked for AffiliateForce2003 at the end of April, so I don't believe I'd be able to convince management of another trip that month.

Will keep it in mind. Would love to go Things here are very day to day now. No commitments can be made yet.

I would certainly be interested Haiko. Currently, my calendar is open for those days.

    Haiko,

Is the Marriot Marquis close to the LS Symposium's site? I'll be able to make it for most of the conference for sure. (probably not much of Friday)

I was kicking around going to the AffiliateForce2003 conference, but I think this will be a better.

I am coming in on the 5th and leaving the 9th so that would leave me out. Please reconsider and have it before the Linkshare Symposium! Air fair is 1/3 the price if you have a Saturday stayover.
I always stay at the Marriott Marquis. It isn't too long of a taxi ride to the Piers for the Linkshare Symposium. Time's Square is the place to stay. Lots of things to do within Walking Distance.

I'll be in NY from the 7th to the 10th not sure what time I fly out on the 10th.

Marriot sounds better than where I planned to be right now

    Cheers

    Cyclone,

Ever heard of the term 'networking'? If you haven't, it means building relationships. There will be merchants there as well as affiliates (hey, maybe you can glean some info.). Of course you can have fun too and check out the Big Apple while you're at it. I'll probably be there given that I live in NYC, and I'd offer to let you crash at my place if I had an extra bed Considering you're located in Mass., I'd say a quick drive down to NYC won't do you any harm.

It's going to be a tough call, Haiko. There's the Linkshare Symposium in April, the Affiliate Force 2003 in April and the Webmaster World Bar Conference in April (25-25, Boston).

The people that will benefit the most from the conferences are the one's probably the least able to afford going to all these conferences, especially with the expensive locations. It's going to be pick and choose, I'm afraid.

I'd almost give my right arm to meet you and a lot of the other forum members but I'm struggling with how to finance it.

I'm hoping to go to the Linkshare Symposium but I can take an early train from Philadelphia where I live and take a late train back. A couple nights hotel charges in Manhattan will break the bank.

    My 2 cents worth:
I would love to see an ABW conference in mid to late May, on a Saturday (best airfares this way) and located somewhere where the hotel rates are more down to earth.

I encourage the ABW planners to look at the successful Webmaster World conferences that are 90% networking and 10% presentations. It's a one day Saturday event at a bar with informal gatherings before and after. Sadly, the costs of attending their conferences is skyrocketing too due to higher attendance fees and more expensive locations.

I have that time open and will seriously consider attending. Haiko, can you get us a good hotel deal?

I couldn't agree more with Whiznot that its the informal gatherings and networking that proves to be of greatest value.

I'll be in Boston, as well, for the Webmasterworld Barcon.
